This call is open for applications all year round. However, please note that we require a minimum of 6 weeks for the evaluation of your application.

Applications

This grant is aimed at researchers and Master’s students that are planning to do a research internship at an excellent research institution abroad. The extra knowledge and experience they will gather in this way, will help them to further their scientific career within the dementia research field.

Please note the following additional criteria:

• Each applicant is only allowed to apply for this grant twice during their career.
• If the funding request is approved, the applicant should mention Alzheimer Nederland’s contribution to the project in their research report and/or potential scientific article(s) following their internship, together with the Alzheimer Nederland logo.
• Upon finishing the internship, Alzheimer Nederland receives a brief scientific report, including any potential scientific article(s) that are in preparation. You can find the correct form here.

Next to personal details, we will request the following in the application form:

• Applicant’s CV
• Internship project proposal
• Letter of confirmation by the internship supervisor of the institute abroad

Budget

The grant only covers accommodation costs and travel expenses (economy class while flying, second or standard class in trains and other forms of public transport). The maximum amount that Alzheimer Nederland will cover depends on the applicant:

• €750 for Master’s students
• €3.000 for PhD students and postdocs
